NR 14-22 Crime Prevention Task Force Offers Free Document Shredding And Identity Theft / Fraud Information

On April 18, 2014, Brevard County Crime Prevention Task Force and Chief Arthur Ayres will be hosting Operation Shred at the Cocoa Beach Country Club parking lot, located at 5000 Tom Warriner Blvd, Cocoa Beach.

Shredding services will begin at 9:00am and end 12:00pm. The public is encouraged to participate in this public awareness and document shredding event at no cost to those who attend. The purpose of this event is to help prevent identity theft and fraud related crimes by providing valuable crime prevention information and shredding personal information that can lead to victimization.

The shredding services are being generously sponsored by Mr. Marc Kaplan of Progressive Document Destruction.

Items you should consider shredding:

Credit Cards

ATM Receipts

Bank Statements

Voided/Canceled checks Credit Card Bills Medical Bills

Employment Records

Credit Reports

Pay Stubs

Old ID Cards

Old Medical Records

Old Medication Labels

Old Income Tax Records

Old Legal Documents

Any Documents with personal information

There will be a three 13-gallon grocery bag or one standard size file box maximum for those who have documents and materials for shredding.
