The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is proud to offer the Brevard Safe Kids Academy. This 3 hour academy provides practical instruction to children ages 5 through 12 on Stranger Awareness, Dialing 911, Internet Safety, Home Safety, Anti Bullying and Fire Safety. The academy is provided free of charge and is limited to the first 20 students.

The Brevard Safe Kids Academy is conducted in a classroom setting. Children will receive hands on practical experience in the six major topics of instruction, which will be taught by our very own Sheriff’s Office deputies and personnel. Children will learn self-defense techniques, practice dialing “911” where the child will communicate with a pre-recorded dispatch system, learn about Stranger Awareness, Internet safety, Anti Bullying and will participate in a Fire Safety drill.

At the completion of the class, children will graduate with a certificate; receive an educational coloring book and a grab bag. Children are asked to dress comfortably in a t-shirt, comfortable pants and tennis shoes.
