NR 15-15 Merritt Island Man Sentenced To Life For Sexual Enticement Of A Minor
Senior United States District Judge John Antoon, II, sentenced 39-year-old Michael Glenn Glascock of Merritt Island, to life in federal prison for the Online Sexual Enticement of a Minor. He was also sentenced to a concurrent term of 30 years for the Sexual Exploitation of a Child for the Purpose of Producing Child Pornography.
The investigation was conducted Agent Michael Spadafora of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office in 2013. Agent Spadafora was acting in an undercover capacity and responded to an online advertisement that Glascock had posted on Craigslist. The agent communicated with Glascock over the Internet and by cell phone. During these conversations Glascock described his ongoing sexual abuse of an infant child victim and expressed an interest in meeting the agent and the agent’s fictitious minor daughter. Glascock further expressed a desire to meet and engage in illegal sexual activity with the fictitious child, and additionally offered to allow the agent to engage in sexual activity with a child victim. After confirming the suspect’s identity and location, Sheriff’s Office agents immediately responded and addressed him to prevent further victimization.
During an interview, Glascock admitted to producing pornographic images of the child victim, to sexually abusing the child as depicted in images, and to distributing and receiving images of child pornography over the Internet. Agents executed a search warrant at Glascock’s home and recovered the electronic equipment he had used to produce explicit images involving the child victim. A forensic examination of these devices revealed that there were images depicting explicit sexual conduct involving the child victim.
Agents were able to identify and locate the victim who was transported for medical attention. The medical examination of the victim discovered the suspect’s DNA on the child’s body, as well as in the child’s diaper.
The investigation further discovered explicit images of the child victim that Glascock had sent to another suspect (Jonathan Tyler Prive) where Glascock was discussing the sexual abuse of the victim. Agents then intercepted Prive as he traveled to a location to meet with Glascock and the victim. Evidence in the investigation determined that Prive had previously sexually abused the victim and was enroute to engage in sexual activity with the child when stopped by agents. Prive was arrested and subsequently pleaded guilty to attempted enticement of a minor on August 27, 2014. Prive is scheduled to be sentenced on February 27, 2015.
This case was investigated by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office who are members of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Child Exploitation Task Force.
Sheriff Wayne Ivey stated, “I applaud Senior United States District Judge John Antoon for evaluating the disturbing facts and rendering justice to ensure that this monster can never harm another child. I have the utmost respect for these incredible men and women who investigate and prosecute these horrific cases to save children and arrest those who victimize and exploit our most precious citizens.”
