NR 16-15 Deputies Arrest Viera Bank Robbery Suspect
Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 26-year-old Andrew Richard Reed of Unincorporated Cocoa immediately following an Armed Robbery today at the Community Educators Credit Union, 7380 Murrell Rd., Viera.
A clerk advised the suspect implied he had a weapon and demanded money. The clerk then gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money from the register and the suspect left on foot.
An off-duty Deputy Sheriff was alerted a robbery had just occurred and observed an individual matching the description. The deputy identified himself and Reed was taken into custody without incident. At the time of arrest, Reed was still in the possession of evidence relating to the robbery.
Reed was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery. He was transported to the Brevard County Jail under a No-bond status.
