As Brevard County recovers from Hurricane Matthew, there are still many traffic lights without power or not properly working. In the event of a power outage, motorists are asked to treat this as a 4 way stop. Flashing red lights should be treated like stop signs, and motorists should proceed with caution for flashing yellow lights.

Citizens and visitors who are returning from evacuation are encouraged to do so with extreme caution. Crews are still out assessing damage and addressing issues of danger and debris. Although the storm-like conditions have left, trees and power lines that were weakened during the storm could be very dangerous and still fall. While power services are restored, use caution as you repair your residence and clean debris from your property as unsecured or damaged power lines can be a serious threat.
