NR 16-65 Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Seeking Citizen’s Assistance In Locating Homicide Suspect
On October 16, 2016, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to 1165 Jordan Road, Merritt Island, after reports of shots being fired. Upon arrival, Deputies located a victim who suffered from a gunshot wound and was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The victim is identified as 36-year-old Samuel Sweeting, Merritt Island.
The investigation has identified the suspect as 34-year-old Regginald Jones, of Merritt Island. Jones has an active arrest warrant for 1st Degree murder and should be considered armed and extremely dangerous.
