NR 17-12 Investigative Update: Decedent Identified In Cocoa Shooting Incident
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit has identified the decedent of the shooting incident that occurred yesterday at 3617 Brophy Boulevard, Unincorporated Cocoa, as 20–year-old Ladarius Bentley
Deputies responded to the residence just before noon yesterday after a 911 call advised that a person had been shot in the residence. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Bentley, who resides at the house, deceased.
This investigation is ongoing as members of the Crime Scene and Homicide Units are still collecting evidence and conducting interviews to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
The Sheriff’s Office will provide updates and further details as they become available.
