The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a shooting investigation that occurred at a residence on Billie Lane in Malabar yesterday evening, shortly before midnight.   Deputies originally responded to the residence at approximately 11:55 p.m., in reference to a reported disturbance.

Preliminary investigation has determined that during a large open house party at the residence, a disturbance occurred between two male subjects.   One of the males displayed a firearm and began shooting at the other subject.    The male was shot, along with three additional victims, as a result of being in close proximity to the subject.   All four victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at a local hospital.   All four victims were also between 15 – 18 years of age.

Agents from the Sheriff’s Office General Crimes and Crime Scene Units are currently in the process of interviewing potential witnesses and collecting evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.  The Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the names of the victims at this time and no arrests have been made. Based on the preliminary investigation, it is believed the victim was targeted and there is no danger to the general public.  Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
