Animal Enforcement Unit

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Animal Enforcement Officers are dedicated to enforcing the appropriate ordinances throughout the county and providing protection to all animals. They respond to calls for service related to complaints and injured animals across Brevard County. The Agents assigned are responsible for investigating these complaints from bite cases, neglect, to abuse cases. These amazing men and women do an incredible job ensuring the safety of our pets!

Animal Complaint Information

Please refer to the below information in order to file an animal complaint.

1st Complaint:
Call (321) 633-2024 and one of our Animal Services Staff members will collect the relevant information and send a complaint letter.

2nd Complaint:
Please call (321) 633-2024 and we will have an Animal Enforcement Officer attempt to speak with the individual(s) and provide you affidavits with instructions if necessary.

Fees & Citations

Care Center Fees

Listed below are the fees associated with claiming a lost pet from the shelter. If your animal is transported to the animal holding facility by Animal Services and Enforcement, the following fees apply:

  • First Impoundment – $35.00
  • Second Impoundment – $60.00
  • Third Impoundment – $150.00
  • Fourth Impoundment – $200.00
  • Transport Fee – $30.00
  • Boarding Fee – $10.00/Day

A Brevard County tag must also be purchased at the time an animal is picked up from the Animal Care Center if they do not already have one.
