Commander Brian Neal

Commander Brian Neal is a twenty-eight-year law enforcement veteran of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office who currently serves as the Commander of Port Canaveral and the city of Cape Canaveral Precinct. This diverse assignment serves the law enforcement needs of both the city and port to include seaport security operations of one of the busiest cruise ports in the world. Commander Neal holds a Degree in Criminal Justice from Eastern Florida State. He has served as a patrol Deputy, Investigative Agent, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Major. As an Investigative Agent, he held assignments with General Crimes, IRS/Secret Service Task Force, and Sex Offender Registration and Tracking and assisting with Internet Crimes against Children. He has held investigative supervisory assignments in the Special Investigations Unit, Economic Crimes Task Force, Victim Services, Sex Offender Registration and Tracking, and Digital Forensics. Commander Neal previously held command positions in Special Operations, Professional Standards, Support Services, and District and School Security. He also served as a law enforcement liaison to the county Emergency Operations Center. He is also the recipient of the FBI-LEEDA Leadership Trilogy Award for his completion of the Supervisory Leadership Institute, Command Leadership Institute, and the Executive Leadership Institute, and is a 2023 graduate of the National Public Safety Innovation Academy.

Commander Neal currently serves on the board for Brevard 211 and formerly served as a law enforcement liaison to Central Florida Crimeline and the Juvenile Assessment Center.
