Director Donald Flammio is a public safety professional with more than 30 years of experience in law enforcement, fire rescue, emergency medical services, corrections, and the incident command system. He currently serves as Director of our agencies Unified Communication Center. Director Flammio has been with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office since 2018, serving as a Deputy Sheriff, Field Training Officer, and Corporal. Since 2022, he is also a member of the agency’s Bomb Squad.
His career includes more than three decades as a career and volunteer firefighter, paramedic, and hazardous materials technician. Prior to joining the Sheriff’s Office, he spent 11 years with the Florida Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer Sergeant, overseeing the Environmental, Health, and Safety operations across multiple institutions. Director Flammio is an FDLE General Instructor, high liability instructor and holds extensive certifications in law enforcement, fire rescue, hazardous materials, emergency medical services, Incident Command, emergency management, defensive tactics, driving, and first aid. He brings a broad range of operational, instructional, and leadership experience to public safety.
