Major Jason Drinkwater is a twenty-eight-year veteran of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and currently serves as the Major of our Operational Services Unit. Major Drinkwater holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Administration from Barry University. Major Drinkwater began his career as a Corrections Deputy, and has served as Corrections Field Training Officer, Corrections Corporal, Corrections Response Team Member, Corrections Bloodhound K-9 Handler. Major Drinkwater received his law enforcement certification, making him dual-sworn deputy and served as Deputy, Field Training Officer, Corporal, Agent, Sergeant, Lieutenant. He has held supervisory assignments in multiple countywide investigative units, including Sergeant of the Fugitive Unit, GAMEOVER Taskforce, General Crimes Unit, and Major Crimes Lieutenant. He was a member of the Sheriff’s Office SWAT team proudly serving as an operator and Team Leader over the Grenadiers.
Major Drinkwater is a recipient of the FBI-LEEDA Leadership Trilogy Award for his completion of the Supervisory Leadership Institute, Command Leadership Institute, and the Executive Leadership Institute, DEA (Basic and Advanced), and Florida Sheriff’s Institute Commander Academy – Class 19 course.
