Chief Deputy Mike DeMorat is a thirty-three-year law enforcement veteran with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. Chief Deputy DeMorat holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of South Florida and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy 277th Session. He has served as a Deputy, Field Training Officer, Sergeant, General and Major Crimes Unit Agent, Lieutenant, Major, Commander, and Judicial Services Chief. His career also includes assignments as a Major in Special Operations, Countywide Watch Commander, and Commander of Court Services. Chief Deputy DeMorat is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute (University of Louisville) Command Officers Development Course, and the FBI-LEEDA Command Institute for Law Enforcement Executives.
Chief Deputy DeMorat is a former Board member of the Serene Harbor Domestic Violence Shelter, the Space Coast Early Intervention Center, and Central Florida Crimeline.
