NR 25-09 Child Injured in Shooting Incident

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 4000 block of Aurantia Road in Mims.  Deputies responded to a residence at approximately 12:20 p.m. after a 911 call was received advising that a three-year-old boy had been accidentally shot.  The child was transported from the scene to an area hospital where he was life flighted to Orlando for further treatment. At this time, he is listed in stable condition.

Agents and Crime Scene Investigators are currently conducting interviews and collecting evidence to determine the sequence of events that led to the child being injured.  The investigation is continuing and no arrests have been made at this time.
