The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 23-year-old Tyjah Bellinger of Port St John for the shooting death of 28-year-old, Lendzi Lakeman, which occurred at approximately 12:15 p.m., on Sunday, November 14, 2025. Bellinger was arrested after an arrest warrant was issued, charging him with 1st Degree Premeditated Murder. He is currently being held in the Brevard County Jail on a No Bond status.
The investigation began when deputies responded to multiple calls for service regarding shots fired in the 7000 block of Carlow Ave, Port St, John. Upon arrival, deputies located a female victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts the female victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
During the initial investigation conducted by patrol deputies, it was determined that Bellinger, who is the victim’s boyfriend, was responsible for the shooting. Deputies responded to multiple locations where Mr. Bellinger was believed to have fled and ultimately located him at a residence on Dallas Ave., Port St. John where he was taken into custody without incident. Agents from the Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.
Homicide Agents and Crime Scene personnel are still at the scene conducting interviews and collecting evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the homicide.
