The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 3-year-old, male that occurred at the America’s Best Value Inn located at 180 A1A, Satellite Beach, Florida. Deputies responded at approximately 8:00 p.m. yesterday evening to a report of a child not breathing. Brevard County Fire Rescue personnel rendered aid before the child was transported to a local hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, he was later pronounced deceased.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the child was playing in the room while the mother was outside on the balcony. Upon entering the room to check on the child, the mother found him unresponsive and immediately summoned help.
Based on the initial investigative findings and preliminary results of the autopsy, the death appears to be accidental in nature.
