Concealed Weapons Permits

Concealed Weapons Permits

While Concealed Weapon Permits are not mandatory in Florida as we have passed a bill for “Permitless Carry”, other states do not recognize this law, and therefore a Concealed Weapon Permit would still be needed if traveling to certain locations outside the state of Florida. Permitless Carry still requires persons to meet all of the same requirements as outlined below in Chapter 790 Florida Statutes.

General Information:

  1. Concealed Weapon or Firearm permits are issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing. Please visit the Division of Licensing website for all information relating to CWP or to complete your application online.
  2. Before you submit your application, you are required by law to become knowledgeable of Chapter 790, Florida Statutes.
  3. You can be fingerprinted (required) at any of our five precincts, as well as our Criminal Investigative Services building. See below for locations and fingerprinting hours.
  4. At the time of fingerprinting you will be required to pay the following fees:
    • Electronic Submission:
      • $32.00 – Fingerprint processing & service fee to BCSO

We accept Cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express (credit card transactions are subject to a convenience fee of $2.00 or 2.95%, whichever is greater)

** You can also visit any of the following Brevard County Tax Collectors locations for a streamlined process to complete applications (new and renewals), fingerprints and photos all on site. Please refer to their webpage to make an appointment to apply for a permit.
